Honoring our Mothers, Past and Present

Today we honor all the women in our lives who have been a mother to us, biologically and figuratively, they are our Mothers, Grandmothers, Great Grandmothers, Sisters, Aunts and Spiritual Midwives. They all are honored today as those who have touched us in a special role as a mother.
Biblically the role of mothers has provided prominent figures in our religious life from Eve, the mother of all living, to Mary, the mother of Jesus, Sarah the mother of Isaac and Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist. Lest we forget that there were many women during this time that were never mentioned in the bible but nevertheless fulfilled this role to their families and friends. They gave comfort to those who lost children, hope to those were barren and longed for children and kindness to those who faced the aging process without family.

What is it? It’s a special opportunity for you to pray for vocations, You are given a Chalice for two weeks, along with specific prayers. Place it in a prominent place in your home. It’s a wonderful visual as you pray. You don’t need a group of people. Your prayers are needed to ask God to grant us more priest, religious and lay ministers.
REMEMBER: NO PRIEST - NO EUCHARIST
You will be presented the Chalice at the end of Mass or in private. If you are not able to get to church, it can be taken to you. Call Rachel Ruby at 623-972-1051. She will call you back to answer questions or to schedule you to receie the Chalice.

At St. Elizabeth Seton, we are expanding the ways we evangelize. Our Live Stream Mass is now available on our website. If you are unable to attend Mass in person, we invite you to visit sescc.org to encounter the Mass.

WIDOWED? SINGLE BY CHOICE?
We are the SOLO GROUP, and we enjoy getting together at breakfast club, dinners, luncheons, book clubs and the theater. You do not have to be alone. Our monthly meeting covers a calendar of events. We meet the first Tuesday of each month, at the Palmbrook Golf Club at 12PM. Our lunch meeting is also a social time. There are no fees or obligations. The Palmbrook is on Greenway Blvd. in Sun City.
