The first Christian community shared everything in common, and the first thing we hear about Barnabas is that he sold his estate and laid the money at the apostles’ feet. Luke describes him as a “good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith” whose encouragement resulted in many people persevering in their faith. And there was one man in particular who was helped by Barnabas: his name was Paul.
Remember that Paul had been the grand inquisitor and unrivaled as a persecutor of the church. After his conversion Paul tells us that he spent three years in the Arabian desert in a long renewal course in the spirit. When he emerged from the wilderness he went to Jerusalem to see Peter. The apostles gave Paul a cool reception- no doubt because they found it difficult to believe that such an accomplished persecutor of their community now wanted to be numbered among them. With indecent haste the church leaders ensured that Paul was soon back in Tarsus.

This is a five-day program for kindergarteners to 6th grade, beginning Monday, July 14th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. We have a lot of fun with Games, Bible Study, Music, Skits, Arts and Crafts and Snacks that go with the theme of each day. For more information please contact Dcn. St. Elizabeth Seton Coordinator of Communications Michelle Harvey recently traveled to Italy on a pilgrimage with St. Clare of Assisi Parish. Fr. Greg Menegay was the spiritual leader for the trip which included stops in Rome, Assisi, San Giovanni Rotundo, Monte Cassino, Orvieto, Monte St. Michel and Loreto among others. What is it? It’s a special opportunity for you to pray for vocations, You are given a Chalice for two weeks, along with specific prayers. Place it in a prominent place in your home. It’s a wonderful visual as you pray. You don’t need a group of people. Your prayers are needed to ask God to grant us more priest, religious and lay ministers.
REMEMBER: NO PRIEST - NO EUCHARIST
You will be presented the Chalice at the end of Mass or in private. If you are not able to get to church, it can be taken to you. Call Rachel Ruby at 623-972-1051. She will call you back to answer questions or to schedule you to receie the Chalice.

At St. Elizabeth Seton, we are expanding the ways we evangelize. Our Live Stream Mass is now available on our website. If you are unable to attend Mass in person, we invite you to visit sescc.org to encounter the Mass.
You are now able to access the latest homilies from our talented and inspiring team of clergy via our podcast. Whether you are on the go in the busyness of your daily tasks, or relaxing at home, we invite you to take some time to listen to our podcast. We are sure you will be refreshed.
WIDOWED? SINGLE BY CHOICE?
We are the SOLO GROUP, and we enjoy getting together at breakfast club, dinners, luncheons, book clubs and the theater. You do not have to be alone. Our monthly meeting covers a calendar of events. We meet the first Tuesday of each month, at the Palmbrook Golf Club at 12PM. Our lunch meeting is also a social time. There are no fees or obligations. The Palmbrook is on Greenway Blvd. in Sun City.
