The last Monday of May is Memorial Day. June 6 is D Day. July 4 is Independence Day. November 11 is Veteran’s Day.
Does anyone remember September 17? History teachers know that it’s Constitution Day. We’re free from Great Britain because of July 4 and the ensuing war that followed. We’re a United States because of the charter document signed on September 17, Constitution Day. For the church, Easter is Independence Day, a celebration of the freedom from sin and law because of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. Pentecost is Constitution Day, the birth of the church and its charter by the Spirit. And it happens when believers understand each other.

To further our dedication to prudent stewardship and as a cost saving measure, parishioners weekly offering envelopes are available to be picked up. We invite you to come to the Courtyard after Mass this weekend or in the office during regular office hours this week to collect your set. Thank you!

St. Elizabeth Seton was blessed to welcome Bishop Eduardo Nevares while Fr. Williams was serving as Spiritual Director for the men on Cursillo this past weekend. Thank you to Donna Delisi for the photos!
This is a five-day program for kindergarteners to 6th grade, beginning Monday, July 14th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. We have a lot of fun with Games, Bible Study, Music, Skits, Arts and Crafts and Snacks that go with the theme of each day. For more information please contact Dcn. St. Elizabeth Seton is introducing a free will-writing tool, sponsored by the Diocese of Phoenix, so all parishioners can create a will for free and support the people and ministries close to their heart.

The path to priesthood for two young men
Deacon Jacob Chavez was 20 years old when his parents, Brian and Luzinda, drove him up to St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver.
“We could barely stop the car before he jumped out,” recalled Brian.
“Growing up, he was always moving,” Luzinda said. “He was a good kid, a good student, a great athlete and violinist. A really good brother and very good son.”

Legion of Mary, A Lay Apostolate, to begin at
St. Elizabeth Seton
The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, serve the Church and their neighbour on a voluntary basis in about 170 countries. With the approval and support of the Popes and a great many Bishops, Priests and Religious, as well as the prayers and efforts of legionaries, the Legion, by the grace of God, has grown into a worldwide organization with several million members.
The first meeting will be Thursday, July 3 at 10:30am in the Mt. Carmel Room.
What is it? It’s a special opportunity for you to pray for vocations, You are given a Chalice for two weeks, along with specific prayers. Place it in a prominent place in your home. It’s a wonderful visual as you pray. You don’t need a group of people. Your prayers are needed to ask God to grant us more priest, religious and lay ministers.
REMEMBER: NO PRIEST - NO EUCHARIST
You will be presented the Chalice at the end of Mass or in private. If you are not able to get to church, it can be taken to you. Call Rachel Ruby at 623-972-1051. She will call you back to answer questions or to schedule you to receie the Chalice.
